أما بعد: فإن مما لا شك فيه أن الدنيا دار ابتلاء وامتحان، والإنسان فيها معرض بالسقم والنصب، والكدر والتنكيد، إن في دينه أو في دنياه، فالصابرون من عباد الله يبتليهم الله تعالى ليرفع درجاتهم ويعلي منازلهم إن هم صبروا واحتسبوا، وقد قال النبي ﷺ: «إن من أشد الناس بلاء الأنبياء ثم الذين يلونهم ثم الذين يلونهم».
