قال المؤلف في مقدمته: أما بعد: فبين يديك أيها القارئ مختصر مفيد في أحكام الصيام حرصت فيه على الاختصار وعدم التطويل، حتى يستفيد منه من ضعفت همته عن المطولات، أو من ضاق وقته عن النظر فيها، ويسرت ألفاظه ليسهل فهمه، وتركت ذكر الخلاف إلا ما ندر، وحرصت على ذكر المسائل بأدلتها حتى تطمئن نفس من نظر فيها، وسميته: "مختصر الكلام في أحكام الصيام“. فأسأل الله عز وجل أن ينفع به من شاء من خلقه، وأن يكتب لي به الأجر والثواب إنه جواد كريم
